Rosalee Wilhoit was initiated into Lambda Chapter in 1953. She was a faithful member of Lambda as long as she was physically able and lived in Lea County, NM. She served as Chapter President during the 1960-62 biennium. Many times she made the trip to state society activities even into her eighties, usually alone and accompanied by her two teacup Chihuahuas. Her presence and her contributions to Lambda and Theta State will be missed.

Natalie Orand
Natalie Orand died October 29, 2012, in Lovington, NM. She was ninety-one years old and had been married for sixty-three years to her husband who preceded her in death by four months.
Natalie was an active member of Lambda chapter where she had been a member since 1949. She had attended the October chapter meeting just prior to her death.
Natalie taught in the elementary schools of Lovington.
Natalie was an avid golfer and had played until her death.
She will be missed by her DKG sisters and all who knew her.

Natalie Orand died October 29, 2012, in Lovington, NM. She was ninety-one years old and had been married for sixty-three years to her husband who preceded her in death by four months.
Natalie was an active member of Lambda chapter where she had been a member since 1949. She had attended the October chapter meeting just prior to her death.
Natalie taught in the elementary schools of Lovington.
Natalie was an avid golfer and had played until her death.

Mildred L. Holmes
Mildred L. Holmes passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012. She is survived by daughters Belinda Holmes and Chonita Katsovakix, and was preceded in death by her husband Robert and a son named Keith.
Mildred had been a very active member of Upsilon Chapter since November 22, 1966, and had assisted at a Valentine party for residents of Red Rocks Care Center the day before she died.
She taught for 35 years in McKinley County Schools, receiving many distinguished teaching awards, including three nominations for Teacher of the Year. After her
retirement in 1994, she began her career as a volunteer forher community and her church. She was a coordinator for Futures for Children and a top individual fund raiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She was a membership drive chairman for the Gallup Chapter of NAACP, and served for 21 years on the Gallup Housing Authority.
She was voted an outstanding member of NMAER in 2009. She averaged 25 hours a month volunteering with Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, supporting the Gallup food
pantry, and visiting residents of care centers. She had also assisted in voter registration and in teaching elementary students the significance of Black History month. She
taught Sunday School and assisted the youth of her church through World Changers.
She will be missed for her most infectious smile!

Jane Posten
Jane Lynnette Posten died on January 26, 2012. Jane was born in Red Oak, Iowa, to Helen and Lyle Posten September 20, 1948. She grew up in Creston, Iowa.
Jane graduated from the University of Missouri where she was a
member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Later she earned her master’s degree at Baylor University.
In 1971 she began her teaching career in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
She taught English at Harvey Jr. High and at Capshaw Middle School in 1978.
Jane enjoyed skiing at the Santa Fe Ski Basin and was also in a Square
Dancing Group. She was also an active member of St. John’s Methodist Church.
In the mid 80’s she moved to Austin, Texas to accept the
positions as international editor and Communications Services Administrator for the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.
Jane was an active member of Northwest Hills United Methodist
Church in the Joyful Praise choir, Sunday School teacher, English hand bells and the Walk to
Emmaus. She was also a member of the Association for Women in Communications Network of Austin, Sweet Adelines and the Wee Rescue animal program and the Theta Rho Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle, and her brother Terry who died shortly after his birth.
