Theta State, “Miracle Maker”
Lambda and Alpha Lambda members contributed thirty-seven items to be bid on in the Silent
Auction held at the Theta State Convention in Hobbs April 26-28. All the money generated by the auction has been forwarded to the Educational Foundation to qualify Theta State as a participant in the “Make a Miracle” campaign.
A $500 contribution to this tax-exempt foundation qualifies a person or state as a maker of miracles.
Members who made offers for the various selections, as well as some who made unsolicited donations, gave a total of $675 to the Educational Foundation, which, among other activities, allots funds to individuals and chapters for
educational projects and seminars.
Thanks to all who gave and all who “bought!”

Theta State and Chapter ProjectsSPECIAL PROJECT of Upsilon:
Upsilon Chapter has acquired a new site for their literacy project at the New Mexico Cancer Center of Gallup. Over 100 books plus games and puzzles were donated to "Leah's Library Corner." Parents, visitors and youngsters have enjoyed the books and games. It is good to see smiles in the children's room instead of waiting in an empty play room. This is the third site supplied by Upsilon Chapter. The other sites are schools at Bluewater Elementary and Manuelito Midschool. This project was started in 2010 in memory of a young lady who wanted to be a teacher, but who passed away before her dream could come true. Kappa ProjectKappa chapter of DKG completed special project as part of the New Mexico Centennial celebration in Alamogordo and the surrounding area. Chapter members donated at least one book each and often more on New Mexico history, culture or the arts to area school libraries. Each book had a bookplate on the inside cover commemorating the 100th Birthday of our state and noting that the book was donated by Delta Kappa International Kappa Chapter. Approximately thirty schools received these books.
